Black Mountain was founded in 2015 by Huw Lewis, MBE, a veteran with a long military career that began at 17 with the Royal Welch Fusiliers, serving in Northern Ireland, Berlin, Bosnia, Uzbekistan, and Malawi. After reaching the rank of Captain with the Royal Welsh, Huw returned to civilian life with a commitment to supporting others.
Initially, Black Mountain was created to support uniform fulfilment for Huw’s other organisation, MPCT—a specialist, award-winning college with locations across the UK. When Huw struggled to find a uniform provider that could supply MPCT staff and students with high-quality uniforms efficiently, he and his wife, Mel, decided to take matters into their own hands. They started Black Mountain in the basement of their home, with a simple mission: to deliver on promises, with each individual mattering.
Since then, Black Mountain has grown into a trusted, veteran-owned business that takes pride in honouring British military heritage. We provide high-quality memorabilia for veterans, families, and supporters, connecting them with the service and history of Britain’s Armed Forces.
